Next week, I’ll be publishing my final long-form article on a topic I’m very passionate about. As an aspiring sports media professional myself, it’s important to recognize the women who inspire me daily, and those who came before them. I look forward to promoting my article once it’s published, so below are the social media teasers for three platforms I’m considering:
As an aspiring sports media professional, I know how important it is to recognize those that paved the way for my future career. In this article, I take a deep dive into the journey of women in sports media. From early challenges to game-changing milestones, women in the industry continue to shape the future for young girls and women like myself. I shed light on the incredible journey of women in sports media through my article on Medium.com.

Rationale/Approach: LinkedIn requires a professional tone if you’re aiming to reach a professional audience. I have many LinkedIn connections in the sports industry, so this post is sure to catch their attention. By including the personal touch at the beginning, I hook people into my own narrative, leading them to the link at the bottom of the post.
How have women in sports media inspired generations of young girls? Click the link in my bio to read my medium.com article.

Rationale/Approach: Instagram cuts off long captions after a few lines with the “more” button, so I made sure to fit all the necessary information into a brief caption. Asking a question makes the audience think, and then hopefully want to read the article to feed their curiosity.
X (Twitter)
Female sports media professionals have inspired generations of young girls and women.
Game-changing milestones continue to pave the way for those little girls looking up at the TV, seeing themselves in the women on the screen.

Rationale/Approach: X (Twitter) is where many people consume their sports news, so I made an effort to format this post as a real sports journalist would. By using short sentences, giving a high-level explanation of the topic, and evoking nostalgia, my words encourage people to read the piece whether they realize it or not. Yes, this is the same photo as the Instagram post, but it’s just as effective on both platforms and it reaches completely different audiences.
