HealthReach Community Health Centers (HRCHC) is a healthcare provider focused on offering affordable healthcare for all in rural Maine. HRCHC offers comprehensive medical services, such as primary care, dental care, behavioral health, and more. The HealthReach mission is to provide high-quality, affordable, patient-centered healthcare in the medically underserved communities of Central and Western Maine.

HRCHC posted a request for proposal (RFP) to redesign its existing website and online presence. The RFP specifically outlines the following needs:

  • Redesign the website to better reflect modern web communications standards and functionality
  • Flexible, informative, responsive, secure, up-to-date website
  • Make telehealth a priority
  • Ease of use for new and existing patients
  • Attractive visual images, intuitive navigation, and concise messaging

To help HealthReach address these needs, I put together a content strategy report for the company. I outlined business goals and objectives, performed an in-depth content audit and competitor analysis, and created a framework for the new website, which includes a prioritization chart, sitemap, content model matrix, and wireframes.

By performing this research and analysis, I found that HealthReach would benefit from taking the following actions:

  • Reorganizing the navigation to group pages by topic
  • Create branded graphics to share on social media and boost HealthReach’s following
  • Add meta descriptions to all webpages to boost search engine optimization (SEO)
  • Make sure all messaging within the website and on social media is written with a welcoming, assuring tone

Taking the 7 weeks of content strategy research I’ve done and putting it towards a practical application was an eye-opening experience. Content strategy is an extremely important function and it’s the backbone of everything we do in media and design.

Overall, I enjoyed putting together this report for HealthReach Community Health Centers, and you can read through my full report below:
